The Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, recently addressed the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement involving Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Turkiye. In an interview with Al-Arabiya English, he emphasized that the pact is strictly defensive and intended to foster collective deterrence. He clarified that the agreement contains no aggressive objectives or regional ambitions, nor does it involve interference in the affairs of other nations. Furthermore, the spokesperson noted that this arrangement is complementary to the existing independent diplomatic and security relationships that each participating country maintains with other global alliances. By focusing on mutual security, the pact aims to enhance stability without competing against other international blocs or frameworks.
