Heavy and sustained rainfall lasting over 30 hours has significantly impacted routine activities throughout Nepal, including the capital city. The adverse weather conditions have directly disrupted the Nepal Premier League 2026, with both matches slated for today expected to be abandoned. Despite protective measures taken at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Stadium, the outfield has become waterlogged due to the intensity of the storm and runoff from surrounding areas. Consequently, ground staff are unable to remove the covers to ready the pitch. Cricket Association of Nepal secretary Paras Khadka indicated that the likelihood of play proceeding is minimal, although a formal decision regarding the cancellation of the 12:30 pm fixture remains pending. The ongoing precipitation continues to hinder efforts to resume tournament activities.
