Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan arrived in Seoul on Monday for an official visit aimed at strengthening bilateral ties. Accompanied by a high-level delegation including several ministers, Erdoğan met with South Korean officials to explore potential collaborations. A primary focus of the discussions is the development of the Sinop nuclear power plant, with Ankara currently evaluating proposals from the Korea Electric Power Corp. Beyond energy, the Turkish leadership is seeking to expand cooperation in sectors such as defense, robotics, artificial intelligence, and semiconductor manufacturing. President Erdoğan expressed a desire to increase bilateral trade toward a $15 billion goal while addressing existing trade imbalances. Additionally, he encouraged South Korean firms to invest in Turkish logistics and transportation infrastructure projects that connect Asian and European markets.
