A long-hidden masterpiece by Vincent van Gogh, titled "Châtaigniers en fleurs" (Chestnut Trees in Blossom), has been unveiled to the public in Hong Kong. The artwork, which has remained out of the public eye for over six decades, drew significant crowds to a Sotheby’s preview event. This painting is part of a collection formerly owned by Argentine collectors Nelly Arrieta de Blaquier and Carlos Pedro Blaquier. It is scheduled to be auctioned in New York on November 18, with experts estimating a potential sale price of approximately $180 million. Alongside the Van Gogh, the auction will feature works by other renowned artists, including Claude Monet, Camille Pissarro, and Paul Cezanne. The exhibition in Hong Kong serves as a rare opportunity for art enthusiasts to view the piece before it enters the global market.
