The Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) in Rawalpindi has established a dedicated task force in collaboration with the Punjab Enforcement and Regulatory Authority to curb the illegal disposal of construction debris and solid waste into Nullah Leh. This initiative aims to clear encroachments, unauthorized parking zones, and material storage sites located along the banks of the stormwater channel. Managing Director Azizullah Khan stated that the task force will maintain constant surveillance of the area. Individuals caught discarding waste will face legal consequences, including arrests and the filing of formal police reports, while vehicles utilized for dumping will be confiscated. Furthermore, property owners will be held accountable if their construction supplies are discovered within the waterway. Authorities have already initiated operations against specific transport depots to ensure compliance with environmental and urban regulations.
