A 68-year-old retired Malaysian army officer, identified as Yahya Hashim, has been formally charged following an alleged molestation incident involving a 20-year-old golf caddie. The event reportedly occurred on August 25 at the Tiara Melaka Golf & Country Club in Ayer Keroh. During the court proceedings on September 4, the defendant, who holds the title of Datuk, entered a plea of not guilty to the charge of using criminal force to outrage the victim's modesty. While the prosecution initially sought a bail of RM5,000, the defense requested a reduction, citing the accused's retirement, lack of steady income, and ongoing medical needs. The magistrate subsequently set the bail at RM2,500, stipulating that the defendant must refrain from any contact or harassment toward the complainant throughout the duration of the legal process.
