Service providers in the UAE, including moving companies, car recovery services, and food delivery businesses, are evaluating the impact of recent fuel price hikes on their operational expenses. As of October 1, the cost of diesel rose to Dh4.80 per litre, while Special 95 petrol increased to Dh4.28 per litre. These adjustments have forced businesses to reconsider their pricing models, particularly for long-distance tasks that involve empty return trips. For instance, moving trucks traveling between Sharjah and Dubai must now account for the fuel consumed during return journeys when calculating service fees. To mitigate these rising costs, operators are exploring strategies to optimize routes and minimize non-essential travel, aiming to maintain financial sustainability amidst the current economic climate.
