The Russian Ministry of Justice has officially classified the Dialogue with Russian Democratic Forces, a delegation operating within the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, as an undesirable organization. This legal designation effectively criminalizes any association with the group, which was established earlier this year by prominent opposition figures to advocate against the war. Participants in this initiative, including well-known dissidents, now face potential imprisonment under Russian law. The Prosecutor General’s Office initiated this move on October 21, followed by formal ministerial approval. This action is part of a broader crackdown that saw eleven other foreign entities, including a Slovakian publisher of banned literature, added to the blacklist. Since 2015, the undesirable designation has been frequently employed by the state to restrict independent media, civil society organizations, and political opponents, further tightening control over external influence and dissenting voices.
