During the 63rd session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, Saudi Arabia reiterated its commitment to the two-state solution as the primary mechanism for establishing enduring regional peace. Dr. Salem Al-Qahtani, representing the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, emphasized that Palestinians possess an inherent right to self-determination and the creation of a sovereign state based on 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem serving as its capital. Furthermore, the Saudi delegation expressed firm opposition to ongoing military actions in the Gaza Strip, calling for an immediate ceasefire and the protection of civilian populations. The statement also included a formal condemnation of the continued expansion of Israeli settlements in occupied territories, highlighting the kingdom's stance on international legal frameworks regarding the conflict.
