Data published by the Saudi Central Bank indicates that the nation's foreign currency reserves reached SR1.733 trillion in August 2026. This figure represents a 7.2 percent increase compared to the SR1.616 trillion recorded during the same period in 2025. Despite this annual growth, the reserves experienced a slight monthly contraction of 0.32 percent from the July 2026 total of SR1.738 trillion. Furthermore, the Kingdom's total official reserve assets climbed to SR1.827 trillion by the end of August, marking a 6.7 percent year-on-year rise. However, these assets also saw a marginal monthly decline of 0.27 percent, representing the second consecutive month of decrease for this specific metric.
