A delegation of high-ranking prison authorities, led by Commissioner Senaka Palletenna, held discussions with the Mahanayake Theras of the Asgiri and Malwathu Chapters in Kandy. During the session at the Asgiri Maha Viharaya, Most Ven. Warakagoda Sri Gnanarathana Thera formally requested the release of the incarcerated Ven. Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thera. The senior monk sought clarification on potential legal or administrative avenues for the prisoner's early release. In response, Commissioner Palletenna indicated that no official determination has been reached by the authorities regarding this request. The prison officials subsequently traveled to the Malwathu Maha Viharaya to continue their consultations with Most Ven. Thibbatuwawe Sri Sumangala Thera. The meetings highlight ongoing high-level interest in the status of the imprisoned monk.
