The Shanxi Museum has unveiled a collection of approximately 30 historical painted sculptures that were previously located abroad. These artifacts, which span a timeframe from the 10th century to the early 20th century, were gifted to the Chinese mainland by a Buddhist group based in Taiwan during 2024. Following their arrival, the items were formally integrated into the museum's permanent collection in 2025. The pieces are noted for their intricate three-dimensional craftsmanship, allowing viewers to observe them from multiple perspectives. This display highlights the technical proficiency of historical artisans and marks the successful repatriation of these cultural relics to the mainland.
