Singapore has allocated over 48.9 million Singapore dollars to support approximately 7,973 citizens living with severe disabilities. Managed by the Ministry of Health, the ElderFund initiative provides monthly payments of up to 250 dollars to individuals who require significant assistance with daily tasks such as bathing, dressing, and mobility. To qualify for this financial safety net, applicants must be at least 30 years old and meet specific household income and savings requirements. This program serves as a critical resource for those who do not qualify for other national long-term care schemes or have already exhausted their benefits from previous disability support plans. As the nation maintains one of the highest GDP per capita figures in Asia, the government continues to increase annual funding to ensure vulnerable residents receive necessary long-term care support.
