Officials in Kanchanaburi, Thailand, have launched an inquiry into an elderly and psychiatric care center after reports surfaced regarding inhumane living conditions. The investigation began following a television appearance by an elderly woman who claimed she was held against her will at the facility for over two years. She alleged that her son and daughter-in-law orchestrated her placement there to seize control of her business interests. During her stay, she reported experiencing physical assault, intimidation, and forced medication before eventually contacting her sister for assistance. Upon inspecting the premises on October 5, authorities discovered patients sleeping in beds surrounded by metal frames and observed rooms secured with iron bars. The investigation into the facility's operations and the treatment of its residents is ongoing.
