Supporters, alumni, and current students of Yeomyung School held a demonstration outside the Seoul Metropolitan Council this Wednesday. The institution, which provides educational support and social integration for children from North Korean defector families, is currently facing a housing crisis. The school operates out of a repurposed elementary building located in Gangseo-gu, but their authorization to occupy this space is set to conclude in February. Participants at the rally emphasized that these students are integral members of the Seoul community and deserve a stable environment to continue their education. The protest served as a formal request for local authorities to assist in securing a permanent location, ensuring that the school can maintain its operations beyond the upcoming deadline.
