A Singaporean couple recently encountered significant public criticism after sharing details of their housing arrangements for their domestic worker. The pair utilized their four-room HDB flat's home office to create a sleeping area for the helper, partitioning one-third of the room with a divider. Although the couple presented the setup as a personalized corner for the employee, social media users reacted negatively to the limited space provided. The couple initially showcased their renovation project through Instagram and YouTube content. Following the widespread negative response, the creators restricted access to their social media accounts. However, images of the living arrangement continue to circulate on platforms such as Reddit and X, fueling ongoing discussions regarding the treatment and living conditions of domestic helpers in local households.
