A delegation of Singaporean parliamentarians, led by Speaker Seah Kian Peng, is scheduled to travel to the Vatican, Rome, and Strasbourg between October 18 and 23. The group includes Members of Parliament Sharael Taha, Pritam Singh, Cassandra Lee, and Charlene Chen. The primary objective of this diplomatic mission is to enhance inter-parliamentary cooperation and bolster Singapore's relationship with various European institutions. While in the Vatican City, the delegation is set to hold discussions with Secretary of State Pietro Parolin and Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher, who oversees relations with states and international organizations. These meetings are intended to reinforce the existing positive ties between Singapore and the Vatican, while also facilitating a dialogue regarding current regional and international affairs.
