Singaporean television personality Quan Yi Fong recently shared a disappointing experience regarding a ten-day trip to Xinjiang, China. The 52-year-old entertainer, who booked a local tour group upon arrival to navigate the expansive region, alleged that the guide employed aggressive tactics to pressure travelers into spending money. Despite signing a contract that explicitly prohibited hidden costs and mandatory shopping, Quan stated that the guide mocked and verbally reprimanded participants who declined to make purchases. Due to changing weather patterns, Quan had altered her itinerary to visit southern Xinjiang, but she ultimately advised against booking such tours. She detailed that the group was taken out early on multiple mornings under circumstances that contradicted the terms of their agreement. Her account, shared via social media, highlights significant concerns regarding the conduct of local tour operators in the area.
