A complete power failure has affected the entirety of Sri Lanka, according to the National System Operator. While technical teams are currently engaged in efforts to bring the grid back online, the specific reason for the widespread disruption remains unidentified. No timeline has been provided regarding when electricity services will be fully operational again. As a precautionary measure during the recovery process, the government has instructed individuals and businesses with rooftop solar installations to disconnect their systems from the grid until further notice. Prior to the total collapse of the national network, localized electricity interruptions had already been observed in various regions across the country.
