A Taiwanese cosmetics executive, Anni Miao, is embroiled in a dispute with a restaurant following an incident where wine was allegedly spilled on her white crocodile leather Hermès bag. Miao claims that during a meal at Ushigoro S Taiwan in May, staff accidentally dropped wine on her accessory. She asserts that the restaurant manager initially promised to take full responsibility for the damage. After paying her bill, Miao contacted the Hermès boutique, where she was informed that the bag would require professional restoration in France. The restaurant has since disputed the situation, alleging that Miao requested compensation totaling approximately S$37,294, a demand they ultimately refused to meet. The disagreement highlights a significant conflict between the patron and the establishment regarding the valuation and liability for the stained luxury item.
