During the event, he emphasized how local authors are exploring complex themes such as Indigenous identity, ecology, and history. The success of Yang Shuang-zi’s "Taiwan Travelogue," which secured the 2026 International Booker Prize, was cited as a pivotal moment for international recognition. Natasha Brown, head of the judging panel, noted that the high-quality translation helped make the novel's cultural nuances accessible to English-speaking audiences. Minister Li also addressed the role of literature in navigating identity-related tensions. Beyond the forum, Li visited the Victoria and Albert Museum’s V&A East Storehouse to study modern collection management practices, which may inform future storage strategies in Taiwan. The minister’s European trip concludes on September 15 following a visit to France.
