Deputy Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has directed government agencies to bolster disaster preparedness as meteorological forecasts indicate an increase in rainfall starting October 5. While recent weather conditions have shown signs of improvement, officials are bracing for heavier precipitation, particularly in the southern provinces. Agencies have been instructed to secure essential supplies, including food and medical provisions, and to ensure that evacuation centers are adequately equipped with sanitary facilities and bedding. The Meteorological Department anticipates significant rainfall in the Northeast and western areas between October 5 and 7. Furthermore, central Thailand is expected to experience sustained, heavy downpours from October 11 to 14. Although officials noted that current warnings are based on predictive models, they emphasized the necessity of proactive measures to mitigate potential damage and ensure public safety during the upcoming wet period.
