Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul announced on Thursday that he might initiate a phone conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump to finalize ongoing trade negotiations. The discussions center on potential special tariff rates for Thai exports to the United States. According to Anutin, Commerce Minister Suphajee Suthumpun indicated that the bilateral trade talks are nearing a conclusion, with only minor details remaining to be resolved. The Prime Minister plans to review the current status of these negotiations with the Commerce Minister on September 18. Anutin expressed optimism regarding the progress of the discussions, suggesting that a direct dialogue between the two national leaders could provide the necessary momentum to settle the outstanding issues and secure favorable trade terms for Thailand.
