President Shavkat Mirziyoyev recently oversaw the completion of extensive restoration efforts at the Imam Maturidi Complex, situated at the Chokardiza Cemetery in Samarkand. The project, which follows the 1,155th anniversary of the scholar's birth, includes a new mosque, renovated mausoleums, a specialized research center, a library, and a museum. Spanning over ten hectares, the site also provides modern amenities such as hotels and parking for visitors. During his visit, the President highlighted the necessity of preserving and teaching the intellectual contributions of Imam Maturidi to the younger generation. He emphasized that these institutions serve as vital centers for enlightenment, intended to combat ignorance through scholarly evidence and historical understanding. The President noted that the site is designed to be a place for both spiritual reflection and academic study, helping citizens connect with their cultural identity and religious heritage.
