Uzbekistan is positioning itself as a regional technology hub by introducing the "Enterprise Uzbekistan" business regime, scheduled to launch early next year. This initiative offers significant tax exemptions, including relief from corporate income tax, dividend taxes, and zero VAT on exports for participating firms. The program also features a regulatory sandbox, allowing companies to test innovative products under simplified licensing and temporary rule exemptions. Furthermore, the regime facilitates the recruitment of international talent by providing tax breaks for highly qualified foreign staff and streamlining visa processes. By allowing full foreign ownership and familiar investment structures, officials hope to encourage international venture capital and major technology corporations to use Tashkent as a gateway for expansion across Central Asia and the Middle East. The initiative aims to simplify legal navigation for foreign entities and foster a more robust ecosystem for startups and global investors.
