In celebration of United Nations Day on October 24, the Vietnamese Engineering Company Rotation 5, currently deployed with the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA), coordinated a badminton competition. The event brought together eight teams representing six different nations. This sporting initiative highlights the ongoing involvement of Vietnamese personnel in international peacekeeping efforts. Beyond this event, Vietnam continues to strengthen its contribution to UN missions, as evidenced by the recent appointment of additional military officers to various peacekeeping roles in South Sudan and Abyei, as well as the selection of a Vietnamese officer for a high-level position within the UN peacekeeping framework.
