A 43-year-old woman, identified as Thanyathorn Songserm, was taken into custody following a violent incident in Surat Thani province on Saturday. The suspect allegedly targeted her former partner's family during a dispute regarding a durian orchard lease and personal belongings. During the attack, a 72-year-old woman was killed, and her son sustained serious gunshot wounds. The perpetrator also reportedly attempted to shoot her former partner and a teenager, but the latter escaped when the firearm malfunctioned. Local police intercepted the suspect in a pickup truck and recovered a .38-calibre handgun. Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting, which occurred after the suspect returned to the area to resolve business matters following the end of her relationship with the family two months prior.
