Jeffrey Archer, the renowned British author and one-time Conservative Party politician, has died at 86. According to his publisher, HarperCollins, the writer passed away unexpectedly at his residence while working on his manuscripts. Throughout his prolific career, Archer authored 31 novels, achieving global sales exceeding 300 million copies. His latest literary work, titled Adam and Eve, was slated for release this Tuesday. Beyond his writing career, Archer was active in British politics, having been elected as a Member of Parliament at age 29 in 1969. His transition to full-time writing followed a significant financial crisis in 1974 involving a failed business investment. He remained a prominent figure in the literary world until his death.
