The recent SSC and equivalent examination results in Bangladesh have sparked significant debate due to a surge in corrections following re-scrutiny. This year witnessed an unprecedented volume of applications for result reviews, leading to substantial adjustments in final grades. Notably, 3,079 students achieved a GPA-5 after the re-evaluation process, while the number of students transitioning from failing to passing status more than doubled compared to the previous year, rising to 4,585. Furthermore, data indicates that 27,836 candidates experienced changes in their grades, and 56,259 students saw their total marks altered. These widespread discrepancies have prompted questions regarding the reliability and consistency of the initial assessment methods employed by the eleven education boards. The scale of these modifications suggests systemic issues within the grading framework that require urgent attention from educational authorities to ensure fairness for all participants.
