Officials at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka have confiscated twelve kilograms of suspected 24-carat gold. The precious metal, processed into a paste form, was discovered hidden within the garments of two individuals who had just arrived on a flight from Dubai. Customs personnel identified the illicit cargo during a routine screening process. The suspects are currently being held as authorities conduct a further investigation into the smuggling attempt. This incident highlights ongoing efforts by Bangladeshi customs to curb the illegal movement of gold through the nation's primary aviation hub.
