Malaysian Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin has stated that the ongoing Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) regarding the Royal Malaysian Navy’s Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) project will not influence the timeline for finishing the vessel. During a public event in Kota Tinggi, the minister emphasized that the shipbuilder is under strict instructions to accelerate construction efforts to prevent any additional setbacks. He clarified that the delivery of LCS 1 remains a distinct operational priority that must proceed regardless of the investigative process. By separating the RCI from the actual manufacturing progress, the government aims to ensure that the defense asset is completed as efficiently as possible without further administrative interruptions.
