The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living is evaluating the potential suspension or revocation of a petrol station's license in Nibong Tebal, Penang. This follows allegations of misuse involving the BUDI Madani petrol subsidy, with losses estimated at RM270,000. Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali stated that the government is prepared to invoke the Control of Supplies Act 1961 if investigations confirm that the operator manipulated transaction records or misappropriated state funds. Currently, the Royal Malaysia Police and the ministry are collaborating on a joint investigation into the matter. Operating a fuel station requires compliance with both the Petroleum Development Act 1974 and the Control of Supplies Act, and any breach of these regulatory conditions could lead to the permanent loss of the station's operational permit.
