United States President Donald Trump has reached an agreement with Russian leader Vladimir Putin to increase diesel supplies to international markets. This decision follows a period of significant price volatility driven by supply chain disruptions linked to the conflict in Iran and Ukrainian strikes on Russian refinery infrastructure. Under the terms of the arrangement, Russia is expected to provide 300,000 tonnes of diesel immediately, with an additional 500,000 tonnes scheduled for November and a further one million tonnes shortly thereafter. President Trump indicated that total deliveries could reach three million tonnes as Russian refinery operations stabilize. The administration is pursuing these measures to alleviate domestic economic pressure regarding fuel costs ahead of the upcoming midterm elections.
