A coalition of eight Muslim-majority countries has officially endorsed the United Kingdom's recent decision to limit trade associated with illegal Israeli settlements. In a joint statement released by the Indonesian Foreign Ministry, representatives from Indonesia, Egypt, Jordan, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkiye, and the United Arab Emirates praised the move. The participating nations expressed their expectation that this policy will encourage the broader international community to adopt comparable measures. They emphasized that such actions are necessary to uphold international law and ensure accountability for organizations and individuals involved in settlement activities within the Occupied Palestinian Territory. This development follows an announcement by UK Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband, who confirmed to Parliament that Britain intends to prohibit the importation of products originating from these illegal settlements.
