To commemorate the 77th anniversary of the People's Republic of China on October 1, Hong Kong authorities and private operators have introduced a variety of public incentives. Residents can access complimentary tram services and free passage on specific Star Ferry and Fortune Ferry routes. Furthermore, the MTR Corporation is conducting a lucky draw via its mobile application to distribute 77,000 single-journey tickets. Younger passengers utilizing Octopus cards are eligible for free travel on the majority of bus lines. Beyond transportation, the city is promoting cultural engagement by offering half-price tickets for all commercial film screenings throughout the day. These initiatives, which also include various retail discounts at shopping malls, are part of the broader festivities organized to mark the national holiday across the territory.
