Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei has publicly rejected claims made by British Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband, who recently characterized Iran's defensive military maneuvers as acts of aggression. Baghaei argued that the United Kingdom is attempting to shift responsibility for regional instability away from its own history of interventionist policies. According to the Iranian official, the current volatility in West Asia stems directly from unlawful foreign interference, which the UK has supported. Baghaei further condemned Miliband’s remarks as a distortion of reality, comparing the British narrative to an inaccurate historical reversal of roles during the Second World War. He maintained that these accusations represent a continuation of hostile British policies toward Tehran, asserting that the UK is misrepresenting Iran's defensive stance to mask its own contributions to regional conflict.
