The Iranian government has received a formal response from Washington regarding ongoing efforts to resolve the conflict that began in February. Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi presented the American communication to President Masoud Pezeshkian following discussions at the United Nations General Assembly. Tehran maintains that any resolution must be based on mutual benefits and the protection of national sovereignty. Iran recently proposed a seven-point plan to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, requiring the removal of sanctions and the lifting of naval blockades. While President Trump has publicly rejected these terms, Iranian officials describe the U.S. position as strategically paralyzed. Despite previous failed ceasefire attempts, including the Islamabad memorandum, Tehran continues to emphasize its commitment to diplomacy while asserting that its defensive capabilities remain effective against ongoing military and economic pressure.
