Kazakhstan's State Counsellor and Secretariat head of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, Erlan Karin, recently hosted a delegation from the Vatican. During the session, Karin met with Cardinal George Jacob Koovakad, who serves as the Prefect of the Holy See's Dicastery for Interreligious Dialogue. The discussions centered on strengthening collaborative efforts regarding the Congress and the execution of shared humanitarian projects. Cardinal Koovakad delivered formal greetings and well-wishes from the Pope to President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and the citizens of Kazakhstan. Following their formal talks, both officials participated in the inauguration of the second Joint Colloquium, an event dedicated to addressing contemporary challenges related to the protection of religious values and interfaith dialogue.
