The Lahore High Court has requested official documentation regarding the ongoing imprisonment of Aleema Khan, Uzma Khan, and Noreen Niazi, the sisters of the PTI founder. Justice Abher Gul Khan issued directives to the Punjab home secretary and prison officials to provide updates on the health status of Noreen Niazi and address allegations that family visitation rights have been restricted. The women were originally apprehended in late September under the Maintenance of Public Order Ordinance as the party organized a demonstration. While their first period of confinement was set for one month, authorities subsequently lengthened the detention for an additional thirty days. The legal proceedings follow petitions submitted by Sakina Niazi and Shahraiz, prompting the court to scrutinize the justification for the extension and the conditions under which the detainees are being held.
