Philippine Senator Jinggoy Estrada has formally introduced a resolution requesting a legislative inquiry regarding the deaths of environmental activists within the nation. Through Senate Resolution No. 697, the senator is pushing for relevant committees to conduct a thorough examination of the findings presented in the latest Global Witness report. This international study has identified the Philippines as the most dangerous location globally for environmental advocates for the thirteenth year in a row. The proposed investigation aims to address the persistent violence faced by those protecting the country's natural resources and to evaluate the circumstances surrounding these recurring fatalities.
