Qatar Gas Transport Company, known as Nakilat, has officially commissioned nine new vessels to bolster its maritime energy transport capabilities. The fleet expansion includes seven liquefied natural gas carriers and two ships designed for LPG and ammonia transport. These vessels were christened at three distinct South Korean shipyards: HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, Hanwha Ocean, and HD Hyundai Samho. This initiative is part of a broader strategic plan to support the North Field expansion project by increasing fleet capacity and operational efficiency. The newly named vessels, which include ships such as Al Ghuwair and Energy South, represent a significant investment in sustainable growth and global energy distribution. This development underscores Nakilat's commitment to diversifying its maritime assets to meet rising international demand for energy exports.
