The Ministry of Health and Food Hygiene in Nepal has voiced significant apprehension regarding an incident where a woman delivered a baby outside the Gajendra Narayan Singh Sagarmatha Hospital in Rajbiraj. To investigate the circumstances, a five-member delegation from the Nepal Medical Council, including Registrar Dr. Suprabhat Shrestha and Dr. Ajay Shah from the Ethical Committee, is scheduled to visit Rajbiraj today. Dr. Pawan Jung Rayamajhi, who heads the Curative Services Division at the ministry, will also participate in this inquiry. The ministry has formally requested an explanation from the hospital concerning the event. It confirmed that an on-site examination would be conducted to ascertain the facts, and any individuals found culpable would face legal consequences under existing laws. Separately, the hospital is also preparing to establish its own investigative body.
