The Singapore High Court has dismissed a legal claim filed by Chander Agarwal, the CEO of TCI Express, who sought to recover S$468,090 spent on his former girlfriend, Felicia Lee, during their relationship. Senior Judge Lee Seiu Kin determined that the majority of the expenditures, which included international travel, credit card charges, educational fees, and feng shui services, were intended as gifts rather than loans. The court observed that the claimant had provided these funds while romantically involved with the defendant. Following the conclusion of their relationship, the CEO attempted to reclaim the money, but the judge concluded that the evidence did not support the classification of these payments as recoverable debt.
