A 45-year-old religious school teacher named Mobarak Hossain, alias Emran, was apprehended by community members in Noakhali’s Sadar upazila on Tuesday. The suspect, who taught at an ebtedayee madrasah, is accused of sexually assaulting a fifth-grade student who also attended his private tutoring sessions. The incident came to light after the victim disclosed the abuse to her family, noting that she had been suffering from significant emotional distress and academic decline for several months. Following the revelation, local residents confronted the teacher and delivered him to the Sudharam police station. The victim's mother has formally initiated legal proceedings against the instructor under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act. Authorities confirmed that the accused will be presented before a court on Wednesday to face charges related to the incident.
