The Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity has called upon citizens within the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao to participate in the upcoming parliamentary elections. Presidential Adviser Mel Senen Sarmiento emphasized that casting ballots is essential for residents to determine the region's political and economic trajectory. These polls represent a significant transition from the current interim administration to a fully elected regional government, with voters selecting representatives for 80 parliamentary seats. Sarmiento further urged all political candidates and their supporters to ensure the voting process remains orderly, secure, and credible. He highlighted that maintaining stability during this transition is a collective duty necessary to preserve the progress achieved through the regional peace process. The elections are scheduled for September 14, marking a milestone in the governance structure of the Bangsamoro territory.
