The Ling Xiang Xiong Art Gallery in George Town has unveiled a new exhibition titled ‘Scars of War,’ focusing on the enduring consequences of landmines and unexploded ordnance. Through a collection of 38 photographs and four contemporary paintings, the display documents the physical and emotional toll on both humans and animals. Featured works include images of survivors who have suffered limb loss and injured wildlife, such as an elephant receiving medical care in Thailand. The pieces were created by artists and photographers Alison Locke, Cory Wright, Giovanni Diffidenti, and Werner Anderson between 2007 and 2025. By presenting these stark visual narratives, the exhibition aims to highlight the long-term dangers posed by remnants of conflict, emphasizing the human and environmental suffering that persists long after hostilities have ceased.
