Pope Leo has been discharged from Rome’s Gemelli University Hospital, four days after undergoing a procedure to remove the lower lobe of his right lung. Medical professionals confirmed that the surgery identified adenocarcinoma, the most prevalent form of lung cancer, and noted that the pontiff is showing consistent signs of recovery. During his hospital stay, the Pope held meetings with aides, conducted mass, and spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin. He expressed gratitude to the medical staff for their dedicated care. The Pope is expected to resume his public duties this Sunday with the traditional Angelus blessing. He currently has a three-week window to recuperate before embarking on a demanding multi-country tour of Latin America scheduled for mid-November. Born in Chicago, the Pope holds Peruvian citizenship and has a long history of service within South America.
