During the Luzon Economic Corridor Investment Forum held in Taguig City, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. formally invited international investors to establish operations within the Philippines. The President highlighted the nation's potential to function as a dependable center for high-value global investments, particularly as supply chains undergo significant transformations and technological advancements accelerate. Central to this economic strategy is the development of the Luzon Economic Corridor, which aims to link Subic Bay, Clark, Metro Manila, and Batangas to foster cohesive national growth. While the administration promotes this initiative as a cornerstone of its economic policy, the event also drew opposition, with members of the Bagong Alyansang Makbayan group conducting a protest outside the venue to express their disapproval of the Pax Silica initiative.
