The Internal Security Force of Qatar, known as Lekhwiya, has introduced an innovative solar-powered technology designed to extract potable water directly from atmospheric moisture. This system, titled Badr, aims to provide a reliable water source for security personnel deployed in isolated, hazardous, or emergency environments. The project serves as a tribute to Second Lieutenant Badr Saad Mohammed al-Humaidi al-Dosari, who lost his life during an attack on Doha one year ago. Following his death, the officer received a posthumous promotion to Second Lieutenant by order of the Amir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, alongside several military honors including the Martyr’s Medal and the Gallantry Medal. The unveiling of this water-harvesting technology aligns with the first anniversary of the incident in which the officer was killed while fulfilling his professional responsibilities.
