Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon has announced that the infrastructure development at the University of the Philippines-Philippine General Hospital is now scheduled for completion by the first quarter of 2027. Following a site inspection, Dizon reported that progress has accelerated significantly, rising from two percent to nearly 30 percent over the past three months. The project had previously faced stagnation for over a year, prompting the Department of Public Works and Highways to assume direct oversight of the construction. Dizon emphasized the urgency of the initiative, noting that the hospital frequently suffers from severe flooding that impacts its driveways and internal facilities. By taking control of the project, the government aims to resolve these structural vulnerabilities and ensure the hospital remains operational and safe for patients and staff.
